BH cosmetics is always a brand I've wanted to try ... Its one of the companies who makes those eyeshadow palettes with over 100 eyeshadows for the cost of like two mac eyeshadows ... to me its sounds too good to be true ... But I've seen several YouTube reviews and they all seem to be positive ...
I've checked their website ... they also sell eyeshadows individually and you can put them together in a palette ... so if you're like me and just want to try a few to see how this product is, its perfect.
Just found out they are having a special:
25% off custom palettes ... this is the perfect time to try a few shades out ... the sale ends on March 25th 11:59pm(PST)... Enjoy and please post a comment with your review!
This is for those of us with brown skin, ie. Indian, Desi, or whatever else you wanna call it. Sometimes it is challenge to find products that suit our skin... so let's talk about the products we love and the ones we can do without!

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation
Nars Sheer Glow Foundation |
Nars seems to have a good array of colors for those of us with yellow/olive based skin tones. My skin is on the dryer side so I'm thinking the sheer glow will be better for me compared to the matte formula they carry.
I'd love to hear from anyone who's tried it ... and especially from anyone who hasn't had good results.
Let's talk about foundation! What are some other brands that are good for us??

Clarisonic
There's been a lot of hype about the Clarisonic ... there are so many detailed reviews online ... so I thought I'd keep this short and just share my experience in case there are any of you out there who are still on the fence because of the price.
1. Buy the Mia - its cheaper, there's only one speed but it's the one you'll use for your face anyways and if you want more exfoliation just press harder plus the brush size is the same as the regular one
2. The dark spots on my face are visibly lighter
3. My pores actually look smaller
4. This one really surprised me: I was expecting this to really exfoliate my skin a lot and leave it dry and tight but its done the exact opposite ... I've noticed that my skin feels more hydrated and softer
5. The CON I've noticed: when I use it over my upper lip I get these tiny bumps there so I don't press as hard over that area and it's better
I've been using the Clarisonic with my regular cleansers with the brush for sensitive skin and obviously LOVE it ... although the price was steep if you're like me and have problem skin you've probably tried many products in the past ... all that adds up too so I guess in the end its worth it.
Have you tried the Clarisonic? I'd love to hear about your experience and also which cleaners do you use with it? What works best for you?

If you have tried any of these or any others not mentioned please post a comment and let's discuss ... Is this legit or just a big hoax??

Liquid Eyeliner
I've always been biased towards black liquid eyeliner... its that one product for my brown skin that I can't do without. My current favorite is:
Why I love it:
-very black
-goes over eyeshadow perfectly
-the brush is really pointy and stiff which makes winging out so fast and easy
-doesn't irritate my eyes at all
-goes over eyeshadow perfectly
-the brush is really pointy and stiff which makes winging out so fast and easy
-doesn't irritate my eyes at all
my only issue with it:
-liquid has a thinner consistency which means you have to go over the line maybe twice
-liquid has a thinner consistency which means you have to go over the line maybe twice
What is your favorite Liquid Eyeliner?
Tinted Moisturizer
Just like foundation, its hard to find the right tinted moisturizer ... something not too pink, too dark, or too light. Personally I tried it for the first time last summer ... I went with Tarte Cosmetics:
smooth operator tinted moisturizer: oil-free tinted moisturizer with SPF 20 in Incognito |
This was good for my tanned summertime skin, lightweight, but with enough coverage.
Note: just checked Tarte's website... looks like they changed the names of the TM's not sure what color I am now...
On the hunt for a good TM ... what's worked for you??
Under Eye Concealer
Finding the right under eye concealer is a huge challenge for brown skin. Those dark circles, for some of us, can be several shades darker than the rest of the skin. Most concealers leave that area looking ashy or way too light. I know that a lot of makeup artists recommend using a pink/salmon color corrector underneath concealer to cancel out the blue under the eyes, but speaking for myself that area is dark brown rather than bluish so most correctors leave an unwanted orange/ashy hue. Or it may look good in the mirror but in pictures it looks way too heavy and white under the eyes. What has worked for you? I'm on the hunt for the best under eye concealer!
